So, who's going where for the BH this weekend? I'm braving the M5 southbound with a caravan on Thursday after work - wish me luck! Will be coming off at Taunton though as we are going to South Dorset. Never been before so quite looking forward to it!

Taking the caravan to a friends farm about 45 minutes away.

Going to have a BBQ/clay pigeon shooting/plinking weekend with the family and in-laws.

Should be good and free!

I forgot it's a bank holiday weekend. Bit of an oops moment.

ETA - Looking at the weather forecast maybe not so much.

Taking the motorhome to a small site at Cononley near Skipton, with some car club mates (but not a car club meeting!)

(Normally go to 2CV National rally on the August bank holiday weekend, but they've changed it to the weekend after and are having it on Anglesey the same time as the 2CV Racing Clubs 24 hour race.)

We are going camping just north of Weymouth. Taking the T25 and a tent. First camping trip away with our 18 month old son plus our 5 year old daughter.

Bit nervous about whether the T25 will make it or not - but we are seeing it as an adventure. This is the first time the T25 has been away from the Isle of Wight since we bought her almost three years ago.

She is a little spluttery up some hills, but I can use the four gears to get up most things - must apologise if anyone gets stuck behind us - especially coming back out of Weymouth on Sunday!

Good luck, took our 1 year old on her first camping trip this year along with her 3 year old brother. Long weekend in the Peak District which we cut short by a day due to sleep deprivation. Won't be trying that again for a while & hence the log cabin on this next trip smile

Would like them to get on with camping as we did enjoy going pre-children. Our 3 year old was a PITA on that trip in that he wouldn't go to bed of an evening, perhaps understandable as it's all it bit exciting / different, but once asleep he was fine.

Gower for us

Van and awning
Bit of body boarding canoeing cycling

Cant get a pitch with hook up so going "off grid" i.e gazlamp and having to "boil" the kettle and no toast!

Cards, backgammon wine and cheese

Oh and maybe a visit from the RAC when the van refuses to start!

Off into the Cambridgeshire Fens to stay on a Farm CL with the caravan.

Leaving after work on saturday and staying until Monday lunch, just a quick get away and first time away since Le Mans with it due to doing the house up to sell, so not had chance to enjoy the summer weather!

Sods law as you can guarantee another good summer is 5-8 years away knowing our luck in the UK!

Stay away from 'Camping International'. Did an overnighter there in July and it was a hell hole!

Well everything went fine with our trip. Did struggle up a few hills, but it was actually quite relaxing rather then stressful.

Kids were great! Weather was great! Food and booze were great! Hope everyone had a good one!

South Dorset is lovely but all the nice places will no doubt have been heaving this weekend. Or not, bearing in mind the weather. We're going next month - useful having my dad live down there. smile

We stayed home this weekend - only travel local on bank holidays. Love driving - not QUITE so keen on heavy traffic.
