Hi,

I'm wanting to upgrade my licence so I can tow a caravan.

What are rough costs and duration or training needed? Also is it pretty simple or pretty challenging?

Thanks in advance.

Ive just arranged for a couple of the lads at work to take the trailer test.

We classed them as having Intermediate Knowledge as they have towed on construction sites and we used the same company we use for Plant Training.

Cost was around £600 inc, the DSA test itself was £115 and the training was for a day and a half with the test in the afternoon on the second day.

I paid £680ish.

That was for 3 x 4 hour sessions (1 of these was used for the actual test). I also used the guys 4x4 and trailer, it would have been a bit cheaper if I had used my own car but the wife needed it for work.

If I had used my own car it would have been around £560.

These prices include the test fee of £115.

You may not need to as you can tow on your current B licence

Add vehicle GVW to caravan MTPLM and if total not more than 3500 you are legal
Those are the plated weights which licencing laws go by

B+E training near me with a LGV school (recommended) costs about £650 all inclusive for 3 half days with test on day 3

I paid £200 for a days training with car and trailer plus £115 for the test.

No need to pay any more than that.
