Hmm Found out tonight that we need to take our spare room with us to the In-laws for the weekend. Hopefully it's not too mucky as I'd have cleaned it last weekend had I known.

Got stuck on a slippy grassy not quite slope today at the campsite, needed to get towed onto the pitch by the tractor. Oh the shame! hehe

Picked up the caravan today. Flat tyre. Spare - flat. Not a great start.

Not good. After spinning my wheels fruitlessly on muddy grass on Thursday I spent some of my quiet nights checking out FFRRs on autotrader...

I took my smaller van away over easter. Seemed the best solution when towing behind the unreliable vehicle, that I was about to make more unreliable!

After day 1 (it was all polished when I left)

Stoping off on the way home after a Jetwash!

Get the right one and I believe it's rated to tow 2000Kg. Probably the Outback with self-levelling suspension. Would need to be a gen-4 (3-litre) or gen-5 (3.6 litre) because the latest one (gen-6) uses a CVT "gearbox" which limits towing capability to 1300Kg (plus - they aren't bringing the big engine one into the UK for some reason frown ). My gen-4 LEgacy was rated to tow 1800Kg whereas the Outback was rated to tow 2000Kg because of the self levelling suspension.

Broke it by booting it sans caravan. Aa think turbo. Specialst said turbo or injector (I suspect injector)

Initial diagnosis is injector based on starting it....

Diagnosis changed. Bloody stupid wife put Petrol in it.

Fortunately we had refuelled very early not quite having enough fuel to get home to avoid filling up on the motorway so near a 50/50 mix.

It's had a full drain, treatment and fill-up and I'm told it's running OK.

We did our trip up to Scotland over Easter. Last Tues(31st) going to Keswick we drove through a full on blizzard: nearly a white out with horizontal snow eek

A week later though it was beach weather up in Scotland smile

Only issue was driving off the end of my Millenco quad levelling blocks rolleyes...still no damage to the MH and a bit of remedial work with a hacksaw and emery cloth has made them safe again!

What a tool I felt rolleyes

Warranty work on the Motorhome over the Easter weekend meant we missed going away, so although we'd planned to go this weekend, MrsTheWife decided to buy a new car instead :-O
Roll on the summer for our trip to Poland, via bits of Germany, then back through Czech and more Germany. I feel a lap of the Nürburgring coming on !!

Got set up over the Easter weekend. The awning makes the whole experience so much easier. All the stuff that was getting in the way inside the caravan can now be stashed there. We've some camping wardrobes to go in there but already we have given ourselves space to breathe.

There's an annex to go on the back of the awning which gives even more room. We'll probably use that to stash the bikes in future but we have an inner tent that can be hung inside there too if we decide to host friends or other family.

ETA: The 3x guy lines on the side of the awning are actually Isabella "luggage straps" clipped onto ground anchors hammered into the earth some 16 inches. It may be overkill but gives us some confidence as it can get windy on that site.
