Absolutely everything works. Went over everything inside with the damp metre, largest reading was 11% where it had a repair 2 years ago. Everything else between 6-8%. Its a dry Leaky Lunar.

The only thing that I'm going to change is the mattress. Its a fixed bed, and its original, they are £269 on eBay, so why not. Came with two wheel clamps, hitchlock, Isabella Awning, 12v Hoover, Wastemaster and 2 x 40ltr Aquarolls, grand price of £3000. I didn't think I've done bad there, a bit of a bargain in my eyes.

Off to the Derbyshire/Staffs border this evening for the first camp of the year, however this time I shall also be towing a friends' converted horse-box for its inaugural outing! It's, erm, a little rustic in its finish, however they are desperate to give it a try now it's, erm, habitable.

Pics to follow when I hook it up later today...

Well, fair play, he's done a good job, albeit with a few tweaks still to do. Had a great night, it was warm, cosy and certainly did the job. Apols for the fuzzy pics.

Had an amazing weekend away in Lymington, the parents were also on the Rally in their camper. West Hants 50th. My first Rally in my own van, first rally in the new van, first rally ever for the other half. And my birthday, went rather well

Have now booked two outings, one late July to Stowford Farm Meadows www.stowford.co.uk and a weekend to Pevensey in AUgust for the Eastbourne Airshow.

Still need to get away for a test trip in the new van, but wife is working every weekend at the moment. Might just have to be daughter and I.

Every time I see pic of your van I think more modern wheel trims would make it look much younger...

Ive a feeling you are spot on there! It would make a world of difference, something for me to investigate I think. Heading down there tonight to give the inside a full blitz, it was clean, but not my clean!

Think we're going to take the kiddies to Alton Towers this October for Halloween - went to Longleat last year which was brilliant.

Was going to go again but have just gone to book it up and we're too late - the caravan site has no availability! Doh!

Alton Towers looks good though (plus lots more for Daddy to enjoy!). The last time I went was around 15 years ago so will be good to try the new rides out.

Should be an adventure up there. We are heading to Bashley Park with the Kids for October. Unfortunately no rallies running, so full price, but they will love it!

Indeed Ross it is. Cracking site, believe it or not, its a memory for me, the First ever weekend in a caravan (this is 1992, in a 10 year old Eccles Amesthyst 14ft) was at Bashley, parked in the woods, towed by my mums white Montego Estate. Kind of fitting to return there 23 years later now I'm 29,and enjoy it again

Had the caravan serviced on Thursday, used a mobile independent guy who was fantastic - a real find!

All good with the 'van apart from the spare wheel carrier nuts which were seized so I spent an hour on Saturday getting the wheel off!

He also told me that my 2 Calor Lite bottles had to be recalled due to a safety issue: http://www.calor.co.uk/recall

Which was great because they were both nearly empty, took them to the local Calor stockists and got 2 replacements FOC - that's the gas sorted for another year or so!

LouD86 - Nice outfit and looks like you got a bargain.

WE had our first outing of the year last weekend. Later than usual due to work/birthdays/kids outings etc..

Went to Chatsworth CC site for 2 nights with friends who are relative newcomers to caravanning.

had a great weekend, site quite tight in places and not very child friendly but as its in the grounds of Chatsworth and next to possible the most picturesque cricket ground I have seen, it can be forgiven.

View over the wall behind our pitch. Cricket ground in foreground, you can just about make out Chatsworth in the distance.

View of the house from the cascade waterfall.

Well thank you.

Looks like a great weekend away. I am off to Keyhaven in a few weekends time, East Hants rally if anyone else wants to join? Cracking for the kids, with plenty to do, including a Crabbing Competition on the Saturday?

Sounds great Lou, unfortunately we are off to France in 5 weeks so haven't the time or the money!

Lovely spot - if you get a chance walk along the spit to Hurst Castle, very impressive.

I'm sure looking forward to our near 3 week trip to France, 'van is serviced and ready to GO!

Sounds like you're off the same time as us, then Rosscow? I've got the ferry (Dover - Calais) booked for the 11th July for our first adventure in Harry the Hymer!

Really looking forward to it. Nothing planned other than arriving at my Uncle's place in Pau somewhere between the 12-14th and thereafter a few days in Biarritz and then gradually working our way up the west coast for arriving back on the 25th! smile

We go on the 23rd (5 weeks today!) and come back on the 9th August. So we'll both be in France for a few days at the same time - we'll be in the Loire staying near Saumur.

Must admit I'm very excited now - can't wait for that first evening in the sun once the kids are asleep with a big bowl of olives and a few cold beers!

Oooh, the Loire is a beautiful area, many summers in the Caravan as a kid there.

Sounds like you guys are going to have some great EU adventures this summer, I'm gutted I'm having to work it all. Next summer the mission is to get the caravan down to Agay for 3 weeks, will be lovely. I like that area a lot!
