Hi all. I'm going on a trip next month and the only reasonably priced accommodation has a sofa bed which I cannot stand.

Is there anything other than a blow up airbed which I can buy to take with us (Double or bigger)? I thought I'd bought a good quality airbed last year, but it's just awful to sleep on.

Is there any kind of roll up mattress type thing which will be half decent to sleep on when put on the floor? I'm going in the car so size isn't too much of an issue (within reason)

Cheers all.

Agreed, some sort of thick SIM (self inflating mat) is the way ahead. Slightly firmer than an airbed and they insulate you from the ground.

I have also heard good things about the fishermans style camp beds, but they aren't cheap.

I use Aerobed inflatable airbeds when we go camping. They are very comfy and come with rechargeable pump. They roll up to a fairly compact size too.
