I had my eye on a twin axle that was being sold in Wales, cheaper than the one we bought as well, but the wife didn't fancy the trip to Wales. In reality it wouldn't have fitted in the parking space I built 2 years ago and extending it would have been a hassle.http://www.dethleffs.de/modellseite/produkt/model/...
Never mind twin axle next time. By then daughter will be older so we'll be able to go for a fixed bed as well.

Eventually bought the twin axle Ace that we have from Leeds - so another long journey up and down the country.
The South East of England is incredibly devoid of decent large second hand caravans.....

There's a downside to twin axle. They are too long to manoeuvre behind a breakdown lorry and bloody heavy to move by hand - Especially around a bend.Never mind twin axle next time. By then daughter will be older so we'll be able to go for a fixed bed as well.
Looks good Chris.

That looks interesting. And yes also in East Sussex hence the jaunt up here to buy a van. Mind you they are in short supply up here too, but still a lot more than in East Sussex. No idea why so many caravan era round here and so few in South EastGiven that you know have a garage for bikes....

So what actually holds the bikes and stand down? If you were to brake sharply, for example?Given that you know have a garage for bikes....

They don't move under their own weight. I do however belt and brace by strapping the holder and bike wheel to the bunk ladder. If I remember correctly Chris may have tie down points which the twin axle layout did not get.
