Tent cleaning

Hi guys

Just wondering if anyone has any tips / tricks for cleaning a tent?
I have a garage so can hang to dry but wondered if i could be lazy and use my normal washing machine? I'm sure a tumble drier will be a no go!

What's the best/best value waterproofer for afterwards and whats best way of applying?

I pitched ours in the back garden and washed it with the hose then let it air dry, not much use in the winter though :/
