Changed out ineffective Aerial for a Milenco one that has been pushed quite heavily over the past few months. Thought it might be useful info for others.

Checked the reviews - lot's of people saying an omni-direction can't be any good and a few from those who have one saying it's pretty goodsmile

Only tried at home so far, where the original aerial was hopeless and the house requires a big pole on the chimney. Great picture on all channels.

Only downside is that it looks a bit UFO'ish. Ferries could be an issue also as although it's removable the bracket is still pretty high. There is a low height one on the market now also...

Thanks for posting. The Status aerial on our campervan is pretty carp and I was thinking about getting one of these but haven't found an unbiased review so your comments are useful. Agree it's a bit UFO-ish so I might go for the lower profile one.

Its worth getting an "elgato eye w tv", its a tv hotspot which turns your ipad, android pad into a tv, i was looking to spend £250ish on a 12v tv and decent ariel for my t5 campervan, i spent £60 on this eye tv and i cant reccommend it enough, fantastic bit of kit, great reception wherever you go in the uk, just rescan for channels for each new location.

Nice work surveyor. Was it an easy job to swap it over?

Fairly straightforward. Old aerial offf, reuse the hole. New base covers the old screw holes (I filled these to be sure), then some sealant and screw the new one in. Swap amp and job's done.
