We chickened out and had hookup. It worked fine, but I haven't tried it on gas yet. Maybe this weekend. It definitely needs a starter battery, and I've got a mate who sets up temporary traffic lights who'll sort me out a leisure battery.

It's a Merc 410D (predecessor to the Sprintet) chassis cowl with a bespoke body on it.

Excellent choice! Had ours 8 years now and it's been our second home.

If you haven't done so already, get yourself over to the thriving Classic Hymers group on Facebook. Log-on via your PC and you'll have access to a wealth of useful info in the files section incl. fridges, electrics, etc.

Enjoy!

I've done that, and had some help already. It turned out I was being a bit impatient with the fridge on gas. We were away for the weekend and had it on 12v while we drove, then gas once we stopped. It was perfect all weekend.

I've big plans for it, but I'll have to do one thing at a time.

Around half a year later, how are you getting along with this lovely old bus?
