Caravanning 2016 - what are your plans?!
Discussion
I'm not bothering with a large awning this year. I'm going to put up our porch awning, and then put up our Coleman Event Shelter Deluxe to give us our outside cover, much more flexible.
Would love a new TV and Satellite set up, but really try to get away from it all on holiday so am resisting!

I bought mine prior to the vote as well so saved a few quid. Plus this year I have a Halifax Clarity CC as well to save on transaction fees and exchange rates rip offs
Me too - although I have a Nationwide Select CC that does the same thing (Visa instead of MC, but pretty much exactly the same at the moment at €1.19 to the pound).PH5121 said:
Not exactly exotic but we are having two weeks in the Lake District starting at the end of the month.
I am looking forward to it as we haven't had a two week holiday for ten years, and I love the Lake District. I know that the weather will be cold and wet, it always is, but at least in a caravan we are more protected than when in a tent.

4 more sleeps then our 2016 adventure starts.
One week at Watergate Bay with a big group of friends in a mix of Vans, Motorhomes, Tents and even a cottage then two families hook up, get the ferry from Plymouth across to Roscof and a 4 hour drive to Carnac for the second week.
Bit of a shorter drive than last years trip to Lake Garda with the van and to be fair Im already missing that part of the adventure - I love a long trip.
Sun has started early, lets hope Cornwall keeps it for next week

We used to go to Lake Garda with the caravan as kids. Fantastic holidays. I might look into doing it in a year or two with our kids.

1 more sleep and then its off to Woolacombe :-)
Staying 2/3rds of the way down for 1 night after travelling down to Dorset in one hit on a saturday last year and having a miserably long journey.
Then 7 nights on the Caravan Club site.
Weather looks good and got the wetsuits, body boards, canoe and bikes.
So glad we changed cars to an XC90.
With 3 growing kids it wasn't fun for them last year for 7 hours sat in the back of an Avensis estate.
Also auto + big diesel engine = relaxed driver
Is that one of the new XC90's? They're bloody lovely. Too much money for me but I'd love one!Staying 2/3rds of the way down for 1 night after travelling down to Dorset in one hit on a saturday last year and having a miserably long journey.

Got a great little stop over just south of Djion, stay there a couple of nights out and a couple of nights back - drove up through the Monte Blanc and the m/way is stunning.
Stayed last year at Bella Italia right on the lake - nice site but bloody massive! Probably find one much smaller when we go again. Salo was stunning so might move around that side a little more.
Next years road trip planning is already underway.....Cote D'Azur here we come....
Out of interest, where do you stop south of Dijon?Stayed last year at Bella Italia right on the lake - nice site but bloody massive! Probably find one much smaller when we go again. Salo was stunning so might move around that side a little more.

Booked up for what is becoming the annual half term trip to Alton Towers.
The kids love it (and I must admit, so do I!). October half term is always a good laugh with Scarefest going on.
Using a different site this year, a small independent as we weren't that impressed with the C&CC The Star site last year.
We're going here: http://www.lmtp.co.uk/index.php
3 night stay and 2 day entry into Alton Towers with reserved parking all for under £200. That's what I like about caravans!

Thinking doing a long loop next spring. Calais down thru Slovenia via Munich to Greece. Up/east to Romania. NW up to Berlin and back.
Say 2/3 months. Get some sun on our bones down in Croatia/Greece and as it warms up back up for an early summer and b4 prices rise.
Anyone done anything similar?
Towing a caravan.
