He's a petrol head, so could be quite a good addition.

I just can't imagine him being serious. I love his acting and his character in Friends too much.

What do we reckon now, 15+ pages of the new presenters of Top Gear were/are/will be rubbish/worth a watch/interesting ?

For what it's worth, I thought he came across very well as a guest.
Good addition I reckon.

The person who wrote that beeb release- do they believe in what they typed?!

As for the new presenter, shrugs. I've no opinion/can't be arsed with top gear anymore. It's like a band trying to reform with new members after they dropped out of the top40.

This won't go down well with the top gear sycophants.

I always thought they should ask Guy Martin.

Guy Martins book suggests they did and he said no due to the amount of time he'd have away from the 'day job' to do it.

The revised TG maybe complete ste, or it may be great. Who knows till it airs? Till then I don't see how anyone can pass judgement.

There is no way Guy would ever agree to do it

Could be amusing if nothing else.. I think the problem TopGear have is that Clarkson, Hammond and May weren't put together to try and replicate something previous. The chemistry between those three guys was golden 'luck' and is a rare find.
Now the guys have gone, they are trying to recreate the show and almost trying to construct chemistry. It's a big challenge for the Beeb.

I'll give it a watch though. smile

As long as he doesnt look at every supercar and say 'How you doin?' it should be fine

This is desperate. My assessment of the situation when Chris Evans took over is that he would twist and turn at a whim, push every gimmick that takes his interest and have no clear direction.

Nuff said.

Matt LeBlanc - he's a good guy but has zero experience in factual TV presenting. This sounds like one of those 'wouldn't it be good if....' decisions that came out during a brainstorming session and no-one had the nerve (or the experience to say) 'nice idea, but...'.

ETA. Apparently he already did a one-off special for TG. I'll need to look it out, but fans and critics' assessment alike suggest that it was not very good...
