We have had our caravan for 5 years and never bothered with a TV however, now we are looking at a seasonal pitch.
Given we will be using the caravan more we are going to get a TV.
What do you think, Omni aerial, or an aerial on a pole?

I have an omni on my van but it seems to be broken as I can get better reception by sticking my finger in the aerial socket than plugging that in. I now have a jockey wheel mounted aerial. Onmi direction are ok in strong signal areas, but a direction either on the van or on the jockey wheel will work far better in weaker signal areas.

I was thinking of going for the jockey wheel one. See an awful lot around the sites we have been at.
They can't all be wrong.
Thanks

I've given up on any of the Vision Plus type aerials, they work well in good signal areas but are pretty rubbish elsewhere. I now have a domestic Hi-gain type aerial that I got from Screwfix along with a steel 3m pole which I clamp onto the jockey wheel. Yes it's a bit bulky for travelling but it only takes a couple of minutes to set up & along with an TV aerial app on my phone & a digital signal meter it gets good reception everywhere I've tried it.

We had one on a pole. It was a fking pain - would gradually rotate.

I've fitted one of these

Night and day difference. Would definitely recommend.

I recommend a satellite dish and box.

TV aerials are no use in some caravan sites due to location.

Yep, unless you want a dish, I can recommend this. I had a Status 315 Aerial on the motorhome and I may as well have plugged the dog into the TV! Fitted the Millenco one and works fine - neighbour had the same one and it works fine for him too. They're £99 and easy to fit yourself if you are replacing an existing aerial.
