OK. We are looking for a camper/motorhome but requirements are a pain.

Price upto £15k, £18k really pushing it.
Must have toilet/shower.
No primary over cab sleeping.
Must have proper head height.
Not too old.

Must NOT be longer than 17ft and that is the killer as it will not fit out the front. Larger motorhomes seem cheaper but do not want anything huge or paying for extra parking/storage.

Been looking on eBay etc. but cannot find anything.

Any pointers please.

Have you considered renting? could solve the space issue?

Thought about it (see older post by me) but we are thinking of doing a lot of weekend breaks and the cost could rise quite quickly.

no over head sleeping but under 17ft - this will be tricky to achieve. I looked on ebay and couldnt find anything except this gem - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Winnebago-Brave-Motorhom...

17'?

That's bloody tiny, isn't it? Not much longer than my car!

18 at a push.

I think it is about standard transit size.

Caravan would be the other option.

Deeds do not allow caravans. (Risking it with a motorhome). Plus although both cars have towbars I really don't like towing.

I don't think you'd find a caravan that short (overall the hitch)? Apart from something minute like an Eriba.

Yeah, its the length thats the killer.

Is there not another option for storage of said motorhome?

I can't see how you can have a camper-van just over the length of a large car, with no over-cab sleeping and with a toilet and shower.

I think something has to give, OP!

Cannot think of one. Went camping last week and the girlfriend loved the idea of that type of holiday but did not like the cold or the idea of waking up with no tent. Granted it is 7m x 3m.

Pay for storage you tight git! :-)

I only pay £200 for hardstanding for my van.

You will struggle with your criteria TBH.

Storage is anywhere from 2-300 year which is miniscule in the scheme of things, ie 18k for the van itself.

You also have the added bonus of not advertising when you are away.

As others have said, that length is too short. You need to pay for storage or change the criteria - how about a VW camper ?

As others have said it looks as though you're after the impossible, especially for a motorhome. I think for a full washroom you're looking at much too short a van and would look at something longer a pay for storage. Mine's about £400 a year for a palisade fenced locked concrete compound with full CCTV and 24hr security. Also your budget looks too low, especially if your looking at getting a van from a dealer.
