This would be perfect.... but it's bloody massive and I'd have to buy a new car to pull it hehe

Problem is, you'd need a Transit to pull it and you'll end up looking like a gypsy and not allowed on 99% of sites! wink
Yep. It's a shame they have the reputation they do because they make some lovely caravans.

We've bought a Bailey Pageant Auvergne 5 berth in the end. Bunk over at the end with seperate closed area. Front singles are long enough for me at 6'3'' (I think).

Decided against paying more as its our first van and we're not sure we'll like it. Its going on a seasonal pitch for the rest of this year and we'll decide whether to tour if I get more confident towing. Never towed before and I'm getting it delivered to the site (too chicken!)

That's pretty much the same layout as our Coachman. It works well for us.

You'll only get more confident at towing by towing more though.....

Go to as many dealers as you can - and look for a layout that you prefer - once you have found the layout then start looking at the different manufacturers.

Im on my second van, (spent all my younger years rallying with the parents and decided I wanted to give my kids the same outdoor freedom and the chance to see more of this great country) and we chose the layout by finding it in another make to what we selected.

Went with Coachman because the finish was much much better than the other options. We have a 580/5 layout which has the bunks for the kids, a seperate dinete which they play lego at or have their snacks, and a nice big shower/toilet as well as the normal kitchen and big lounge. Making the beds takes us 4 mins if that, putting away even quicker. The kids can go to bed and we can still sit up with a glass of wine after they go down. Personal pref really.

We love it - and have ticked France/Spain/Italy off the list, and -10 temperatures over a new years eve in Devon.

Its the layout that works that the most important.

with the beds we have a 6 berth for 5 of us - 3 children 2 adults. Swift challenger sport 586

TBH we leave the adult bed up all the time and use the awning for eating in. kids bunks and bed is made up all the time. The adult bed being up is great to lounge on and chill out during the day if tired. perhaps we are a bit sloby.
