Camping is not something I would usually associate with good weather however as we are now in France and it's mid twenties at night we are struggling to get to sleep.

I've got a fan blowing but it's not doing much except blowing more warm air around. No more windows to open, just wondered how anyone else copes when it's hot humid and still outside?

There's not a lot more you can do than you're doing now.
Your problem is your, simply not acclimatised to it and without being in the location for some time, that's not going to change.
It's been 44 degrees, where I am, today, (Cyprus), the bedroom will be around 33, we don't bother with the air con, cool shower, windows open, fly screens shut, and a floor fan on all night.
Don't see the point of air con, it just ensures you never get acclimatised to the conditions.
As an example, last night we went out for a meal, it involved a 30 min car ride, in a friends car who, predictably, had the air con set to ice age.
Totally pointless, because once out of the car it felt hotter than it was.
It was the same when I worked here full time, you'd spend all day in an air conditioned office, the heat would take your breath away when you went outside. Whenever I got the office to myself I'd turn the a/c off and just use a fan!

I reckon I'll get a better fan then! Drinking more is great for me, but not the usual advice for knocking a 2 year old out!

A wet cold flannel on the wrists or forehead can help cool the little one down, with the added bonus of making them lie still! Otherwise then you are left with trying to get as much daytime heat out of the tent before bedtime...very difficult with polyester tents, and somewhat easier in a polycotton/canvas one....

Turn on the Air Con? Gets a bit noisy, but for half hour to cool the van down, works wonders!

Place a bowl of water in front of the fan and hang a towel in front of the fan slightly into the water. The towel will absorb the water and the fan will blow through it. Keep it about a foot away. Make sure the fan can go no where near the water.

I'm in a camper van, with no air con!

Last night was pretty much the same temp but we seemed to find it easier to sleep. It's a lot cooler tonight so will have no problems.
I think air circulation is as important really, so I should get a better mini fan. Ours is more for heat than cool air.

We leave the roof windows open fully in our MH and place a fan at ground level aimed up towards the bedroom roof window. That way there is air circulation as suggested and the warmer air gets pushed out (on the basis that heat rises). We also then get the cooler air from the fan passing over us as we sleep. Also ditch the duvet and just use a sheet.

During the day if we can we also leave a fan on in the MH so that the air is kept moving plus shut the window blinds on the side where the sun is.

We also have silver screens for the windscreen as well which really help.
