Hi All,

I'm not sure if it's just me, but I really don't like the plastic windows in my current tent (an old 6 man Coleman). I'd rather not have them at all, maybe have mesh windows with covers instead. I do all my camping in the summer, where generally it's warm, and the plastic glass window/greenhouse effect is not very nice.

I try to pack light as well, as there are four of us and you end up filling the car without thinking about it, so keeping all the main components small and light helps.

So really I'm looking for a tent to easily fit four but be no more than 12kg.

The Zempire Hubble is an awesome tent, it was one that really stood out at a recent tent show, and is exactly what I'm after. Problem is packed weight is 22kg (also it's £500, but they do seem built to last with some good features)

Does anyone know of any alternatives?

It's a simple dome tent, but Decathlons' inflatable "fresh and black" range do a 4 man.
I have the 3-man version, and it's a revelation tent wise.
Heat reflective outer, light blocking inner
mesh window with zipped cover
adjustable and logical vents..

Trying to avoid air tents as they tend to be unnecessarily weighty. I'm one of the people who have no issue putting up poles so find the air tents a bit of a puzzle.

I'll have a look at Decathlon though as I know they have a big range, so may have something.

Ooh, I like that 4 man "Quecha Fresh & Black". Despite having clear plastic windows, and air (only weighs 10.9 kilos), the kids & Mrs would appreciate the dark interior as they don't like waking up with the dawn, and it looks like the way it is made, in theory it shouldn't 't turn into an oven in the heat.

I'll try get a look at one, it might be a bit on the small side for us four, but certainly the sort of thing I'm after.

I'm tellin'ya, the combination of a constant cool temperature, and not being woken up by direct sunlight is a winning one.
I didn't note that the 4 man had plastic windows, shame. Maybe get two 2 man ones!?

Sounds intriguing - the dark interior was one of the reasons I liked the Zempire Hubble so much in the flesh.

Two tents wouldn't work as I've got two small kids - even though it'd be nice to be separate,(even on separate holidays sometimes!) we need to keep a close eye on them for a few years yet.

Just wondering if there is a bigger version made by anyone else using the same sort of approach.

The clip on the Quecha website show 4 adults happily camping together, even with a small table and chairs in the living space. They definitely looked a bit cosy, probably requiring some "continental" sleeping arrangements too! smile

Yeah it'd definitely be 'snug. I camp alone in my 3 man.... 2's up would be spot on.
Using it as advertised?... I just wouldn't...

Is it Decathlon that do a build it yurself range, you buy a base then rooms to add to it? That might work for you.
