Oooops...hadn't spotted that the Passat was the Alltrack model so I stand corrected....... and yes, I was aware that the 85% was advisory, hence my comment that it was recommended.

Bedonde....enjoy your new caravan.

Is that a 13pin adaptor wire? If so you can get much neater ones without 8" of wire to convert to the 12n/12s sockets, saves catching the sockets on the ground over speed bumps etc.
I've supplied a couple similar to this when fitting towbars for customers.

Cheers yeah. Usually have it nicely bungy'd up but first trip out of the year, I forgot to put the bungy on. I don't think I can easily use one of those adaptors, it's a quite tight fit under there in terms of rotating and locking in the connector.

I chose BMW electrics as not only did it disable the park sensors but there was a stability control programme which took into account whether or not you were towing. I couldn't find out if there was any such thing on the Passat so didn't bother.
There is. It's hooked up to absolutely everything. MIB, Cruise, ESP, Parking sensors, Cooling system (!), central locking etc etc etc.
