I'm looking to build a camper, based on a VW LT/Merc Sprinter LWB. I'd like to attend a show or 2 to see what's out there and get ideas and get a fell for the type of conversion I have planned. What's a good show for converted vans? I don't really want to travel 200 miles only to find there are 2 T4s displayed...

I'm in Yorkshire, so I guess Midlands is as far as I want to go.

For info, I'm thinking (front to back): front swivel seats, table, forward facing twin seat, kitchen opposite toilet/shower, then fixed bed over garage.

Everything looks fine in my head but I need to get a feel for the space above the bed and the width around the kitchen/shower area.

Sorry, can't answer your question but want to keep an eye on this thread if it develops as I can't decide whether to build or buy. Will be using the van from 2018 to tour Europe & Asia over 5 years. Contemplating a build on a 4x4 base to enable access to more areas.......

Hardly done any research, it's all in my head!

The motorhome and caravan show is on at the NEC 11th to 16th October, plenty of exhibitors there to give you some ideas:

Also, take a look at Imperial's website, they convert Crafters as well as T5s.

The very best show that you can go to with the largest display of the majority of Motorhomes/Camper Vans & all thing Camping is the Dusseldorf Exhibition which is held at the end ofvthis month.

I never go anywhere else this is the very best for everything.

It will take you a few days to get round everything.
It is right next to Dusseldorf Airport & also has an enormous fully serviced camping ground with it as well, plus an enormous car park for what must be thousands of people & cars

Enjoy

Thanks for the replies so far, I might get myself to the NEC! Dusseldorf is definitely in the "too far" category, I don't doubt it's a good show but I can't justify going there for a few hours of "research".

I'm on the T4 forum already and the information there is invaluable, there aren't many big vans similar to what I want to do though, and I don't see myself turning up at a meet asking to see everyone's vans! biggrin
