Thought i'd start the 2017 thread, as we've just booked up the ferries for our European tour this year. We are off in June Hull-Zeebrugge for just over 2 weeks planning to return to Annecy, and to find somewhere new too.

A bit more of this:

this:

This:

and this:

In addition, we've got plans for Tour De Yorkshire, probably several weekends in the Lake District and hopefully a west coast of Scotland visit however that'll be towards the end of the summer if we get there.

Whats everyone else got planned this year?

First off I need to sell my car, buy another, then buy a caravan!

Once that minor hurdle has been overcome then probably a long weekend somewhere not too far away to shake down the gear and see how the kids get on with it. If that's successful then who knows! Enjoyed the Gower last year (in a tent) so maybe Pembrokeshire for a summer break.

If we don't get a van sorted then it will be camping, probably on a similar theme to last year - 4 nights max and nothing more than 2 hours away otherwise the kids moan too much. They're only 3 & 5 so can't expect too much yet but this is the reasoning behind going for a van due to the increased level of creature comforts.

Just 3 weeks down near West Wittering in August at the moment. I need to find some way to bring some of my windsurfing kit this time - although I don't think I'll be popular if I do....

A couple of weeks ago we p/x'd our Elddis Superstorm for a lovely Buccaneer Caravel (mmm fixed bed) with all the toys (self leveling, Self seeking sat etc) so have been upgrading adding usb sockets, fitting in the tv's etc getting it ready for our first trip out in march.
We changed as we no longer need the extra beds for my kids (evil ex) but if they ever come again I have an awning tent and annex for them.
We have about a dozen breaks booked so far.
Would have been away sooner but in laws have surprised us with a week in a lodge at the lakes next week.

We are away at the moment, left the UK on the 30th Dec Brittany Ferries to St Malo, stopped on the Aire just out of St Malo, which was jumping.
We stayed around there for a couple of days and looked around Dinan lovely old town but all covered in frost.
We then started to drive down across France to Nice & stayed on a campsite there for a few days, then moved onto Bouziqe for a few days on the Etang du Thau in some beautiful sunshine.
After this we have graduall moved South down through Spain & on into Portugal where we are at present, with some beautiful sunny weather and temps up to 18/19c.
Tonight we are on a Campsite in Vila Nova De Milfontes, Alentejo, beautiful town with a stunning river entrance especially when viewed from high up on the cliffs above overlooking.
Tomorrow we will be moving up towards Peniche just above Lisbon.
Also will stop at Nazare where there is some World Class Surfing on the big waves & to see the Fishermen who secure themselves to the Cliffs to fish
We will gradually work our way back up to the UK by way of the Coast & then Ferry for the beginning of March.

Home for hopefully the English Summer except hopefully going to go to the Dusseldorf Motorhome/Caravan & Camping Exhibition at the end of August.
We would like to get to some of the Scottish Islands this year as well.

Vehicle is a 6.7mtr Motorhome

Im interested in doing some seasonal caravanning, but need to find the right site thats not too far away from S.Yorkshire. I also need to research costs as I reckon its not cheap. What area is your site?

I have two weeks booked in August at Freshwater East CC site on Pembrokeshire coast. Chose it as its only 2 min walk to the dog friendly beach.

Love the tow car - must be a detachable hitch though laugh

Rather fancy the seasonal idea but have no real idea where to start.

We are back to Norfolk for two weeks in the summer......and I just might enquire about a seasonal pitch while I am there this time (it will after all be our third year back to the same site).

I rather cheated for a trip to Italy though - didn't fancy dragging the van and kids down through Europe for just a weeks stay and we wanted to get our youngest on a plane so we are heading off to a Eurocamp place just outside Venice using a well known orange airline

The site is just outside Barmouth Mid Wales,Dyffryn seaside estates. The cost is around £2200 if you include electric. Its also adjacent to a dog friendly 8 mile sandy beach.

This will be our first year in a tin tent. I always vowed I'd never become a shed dragger, but I've been worn down (last year's 50mph winds in the tent were the tipping point, I think yikes)

So a few weeks ago we bought a cheap Swift four berth. Old but in good nick. I'm currently in the process of ripping out the rear dinette and building permenant bunks for the kids. Then we'll paint all the walls and cupboards, replace the foam at the front, put some lino down and generally make it look pretty (far too much biege at the moment smile)

Seems an awful lot to do just to see if we like a 'van, but hopefully it'll be worth it. We've got ten days booked for Cornwall in August, returning to a great place we found last year.

This will lead be our first year in the motorhome after tenting for a number of years. Can't wait.
Very lucky to live on the edge of the new forest so plenty of places on our doorstop, going to attempt every other weekend at least.
Booked here for August, Bude in Cornwall, but will stay on for longer if possible...

No real plans - we're taking the camper van to Germany in May - 4 nights in a hotel in Berlin, but flexible aside from that. It's small enough to fit in an underground car park, which helps.

We'll be doing lots of weekend trips, off on Friday evenings take part in parkrun on a Saturday morning and back Saturday evening / Sunday lunchtime.

last year I did a week down through the Alps to Monaco to watch the GP and back on my own with my S2000 and a fresh'n'black Decathlon inflatable 3 man tent. The best tent I've owned but curiously not for sale anymore...

Anyway this year in May I'm doing two weeks through France across the Pyrenees and in to Spain to see the Spanish GP.
This time I've asked my 78 year old dad to come too....he's still deciding, as a stroke has left him a bit wobbly...

June will be a week at Lemans, and that's it so far...
