Dog in a basket

Give me your thoughts, I have a very nice dog basket on the front of my bicycle which I put "harry" the westie in when we are away in the MH to get him about with us. We are just starting to think as we had to get him a Dog passport for a trip to Spa Francorchamp in late June that we should get our monies worth and instead of going on a Package holiday to Portugal in September we should take a two week trip to south of France in the motorhome instead ( More questions about that in another post shortly)

What do you think of me putting said dog basket on the front of my moped that we would take to France to get about. My girl friend seams to think it would be a no no in the eyes of the law.

Seen that more than once in France and nobody seems to bat an eyelid. French are very doggy conscious and they take them into supermarkets, they sit in the trolley, and even in restaurants so I don't see you'll have a problem.

Maybe get one of these too.

You see dogs on motorcycles reasonably often over here.

For your own safety as well as his well being I'd suggest a harness, but entirely your own call.

It's very common to have a dog basket on a bicycle / moped/scooter & has been said on motorcycles in most of Europe.
We know people who have an old English Sheepdog which travels in an open topped sidecar attached to a Harley-Davidson and we have seen them at various motorcycle rallies all over Europe.
Anothet who has a Jack Russell who rides on the tank of a Harley-Davidson around Europe.

We have a Wire Haired Minature Daschound who fits in a cycle basket and has just been travelling with us around France,Spain & Portugal for 2 months, it is nothing special to see dogs or cats travelling on their owners 2 wheeled transport around Europe, none of the Authorities take any notice.
You will even see dogs sitting up to the dinner table in restaurants in France 😲
