Renting a van (not camper) to go camping
Discussion
I'd be tempted to hire the estate car and bring a tent, simply to avoid having to do so many miles up and down the country in a van when a car is an option. Also, the roads up here are easier to drive the more nimble the vehicle. I'd rather throw a Passat estate up the A87 than a Merc sprinter.
Another point of consideration would be condensation. I understand it can be an issue when normal vans are used for camping, water dripping from the roof in the night.

Yes it is! Worth smothering yourself in Avon Skin so Soft, hoping for windy days and avoiding still water edges late in the day.
If you are having a BBQ on the shores of a nice still Loch as the sun begins to drop for the day, there is a good chance you will become the eaten as much as the eater!
