It is probably a RIB Altair or similar rock and roll bed, which is why there is a gap behind as the back folds down. These sorts of beds are in all the smaller VW sized vans. A few different companies make similar things.

RIB do a different sort of twin seat that folds out from the front that may be better but not commonly seen in conversions.

The westfalia Ducato has a great solution for this pair of seats that roll over to form a bed.

Another layout option if you need 2 x Beds would be to have a pop top! Hymercar do this as an option so a bed in the back and one on the roof.

I bought a one owner low mileage LDV Convoy 17 seater minibus a few weeks ago (the big one with the hi-top and twin rear wheels). There would appear to be something seriously wrong with it.............it's lovely and it drives really nicely hehe

So far I have stripped out the bus seats, carpets, flooring and all the internal trim panels so that I have an empty bare shell, I've resealed all the windows and the hi-top clam shell too. I've had the wheels refurbished and a new set of tyres fitted (x7). Next up is a full service, cam belt and all the fluids replaced, so that I'm happy with it mechanically.

I will be getting stuck into the camper fit out through July and into August, although there are some corrosion issues to deal with before I start properly.
