Went to the show over the weekend, with the aim of finding some (tent) camping gear that I didn't know I needed.

Came away having bought an Eriba 530, and the friends we went with buying one the same too!

Hoping to get them delivered early April, and already getting excited!

We were going to hire a motorhome for a week in Wales later in the summer. The saved hire charge more than covers year 1 depreciation, so that works out nicely too.

This is our first caravan. Anything I should consider that I'll have overlooked?

Hahah - love impulse purchases! smile

Congratulations. I’m afraid I can’t help as I’m a Motorhomer but I’m sure one of the tugging boys will be along shortly.

Enjoy!

There is a list obviously..

Water Roller
Waste Master
Levelling Blocks
Extension mirrors
Small porch awning to expand space inside.
Some have a generator or solar panels
Some use a mover

Must have a bottle opener on board.

Habitation kit, plates cups etc.

There will be more....

Is a motor mover really necessary with such a small van as the Eriba?

Depends on the size of the Eriba as they have got bigger and how fit you are. Also how good you are at reversing.

Not going to get a mover to start with - I've got plenty of experience in reversing my trailer with a car on it, and having to man-handle that, so hoping to be OK without.

Looking to get a few more power sockets added before collecting it, and we still need to make a final decision on an awning - I'm leaning towards the Thule Omnistor with the G3 residence.

Oh, and I need to get my tow bar electrics converted from 7-pin to 13-pin. Was quoted £400+vat yesterday!

Is it? The chap yesterday suggested that the car would need coding.

Quick bit of shopping around has brought that down to £168 inc VAT. That'll do.

If you have two 7 pins all you need to do is wire the two into a single socket. I did it last week.

There is no recoding to do it’s just a 13 pin socket.

I only have a single 7 pin at the moment.
