I'm moving house and Sky have made me a generous offer of Sky Q installed for free. Which is great, except for the caravan.
I have a Maxview crank up dish on the roof, with a dual LNB. I understand that Sky Q uses a wideband LNB and these seem to be readily available to buy, but do they fit the Maxview dish? No real information on Maxview website and the pictures are indistinct as to whether it is a standard LNB on their dish - diameter, etc.

So my question is, do you reckon a Q LNB is a straightforward swap for the dual Maxview one?

The alternative is to continue to use the Sky + HD box but as a free to air in the 'van. Not ideal as sometimes I like to watch sport, etc.

Also, will SkyQ work when not connected to the internet? I have read on other forums that Sky block the service when not connected?

I have refused Sky's offer for that reason, as I use my HD box frequently in the 'van.

It's unlikely the Maxview dish will except the sky Q lnb.
Sky haven't released the Q Lnbs to the trade so the only ones you can buy are either ones left at installs and unused or worse.
If you do get hold of the Q lnb and are a bit handy with a dremel it would fit.

I quizzed the engineer when he came to install the Q. I can confirm it will work without internet and it is simply a case of swapping the lnb. He very kindly 'dropped' a brand new one in a box on my coffee table....

Now all I have to do is find the time to have a look at the dish on the caravan.
