Tonight's panel:

Francis Maude - Tory - Cabinet Office Minister

Andy Burnham - Labour - leadership candidate, former health minister and mascara wearer

Sally Bercow - Labour, failed to get elected as a councillor, married to the nominally Tory, but clearly Labour-leaning Speaker of the HoC

George Galloway, former Labour MP, former Respect MP, fraudster (alleged laugh), reality TV cat

Nick Ferrari - flakey right wing broadcaster.

Well, the carefully selected leftie audience will approve of the panel anyway. rolleyes

Given up with QT now.

But I will be watching Ed Balls getting a pasting from Andrew Neil on This Week afterwards.

Sally Bercow! Why? What has she done, apart from being the wife of a universally hated Speaker! Isn't this a bit like asking Wayne Rooney's wife to be on a football panel, to argue the intricacies of football?

Not surprised, though. I used to series link QT to record, only to find that I could only watch the first few minutes before pressing the ‘back Up’ button and then pressing ‘Delete’ Utterly shameful programme.

At least Nick Ferrari's on it - and Galloway - whilst being leftie has some interesting independent opinions (certainly not a Brown/Balls/Blair fan).

I think 5 guests is too many. In the old days, they used to have someone from each of the major parties (Tory, Labour and Lib Dem) and one extra usually a journo or commentator. Now that we have a coalition, they would struggle to fill 4 seats nevermind 5.

Also, it takes SO long to get round the panalists that often only a few topics are discussed.

I prefer Any Questions on Radio 4. One less panelist and it's not on so late.

There should be nominations by the public, and then names picked out of a hat. of course there will be a red hat, and a blue/orange hat, and another + £££ hat for businessman and if there is space then a hat for journos.

Yes, at least Galloway comes across as sincere.

I would pay very good money to see a QT with Sally Bercow AND Richard Littlejohn.

"Well, love, I'm sure someone with a colourful history of battling with drink and fondness for one-night stands is qualified to comment on the great issues of the day. Do carry on."

Actually, I think the lefties will hate this panel

1 non person - bercow
1 stupid person too left wing even for them - galloway
1 rational, seems sort of all right, left of centre chap - Burnham
1 tory, doesn't matter who he is, he's their enemy - Maude (my local mpbiggrin)
1 right wing journo - lefties will really hate them.

So there's not much for lefties to get excited about. Burnham is their only hope on the panel but he's a bit too normal and not one I think that will defend (much) the previous Labour shower of stes.

Swap bercow for someone vaguely interesting but apart from that it looks like a relatively normal panel. Apart from Galloway of course but everyone should just laugh and point at him really so put him there for "entertainment" biggrin

As for the audience, well, sometimes it's lefty (i.e in scotland like last week), this week it's down south coast way so maybe not so lefty. Would be curious to know how the audience get selected though. I know you have to apply but is it random selection or not?

It doesn't make any difference if they're just normally abnormal left, totally unravelled left, slightly odd left, side splittingly hilariously left, or any other shade of pinko, the numbers don't stack up. Big shock for QT, and the BBC as a whole, who would have guessed.

It is now completely expected.
Question Time is rarely balanced.
Andrew Marr's guests - mostly left-ish.
And last nights BBC news - no mention of a missing 4 trillion quid anywhere, although ramblings about a dead northeastern nutter and some oiled up american birds (calm down) may mean I missed it.
