Dragonstone, middle of a huge storm.... The birth killed her mother etc
According to? Where are there discrepancies in Dani's memeroies of her early life?Dragonstone, middle of a huge storm.... The birth killed her mother etc

It makes sense.
L+R=J is the obvious answer but sometimes the obvious can be wrong and GRRM likes to surprise us.
One of his themes is the unreliability of history. How do we know Dany's origins?, anyone who was there for the birth is dead or not around.
There is also the fact that Jon doesn't look anything like half Targaryen and show Lyanna also has light hair (though not blonde).
It would also fit with Melisandre continually identifying the wrong "prince that was promised". What if it is Dany and hers is the song of ice and fire.
Finally there is the very good point that GRRM always writes something for a reason and so Dany's childhood memories of the house with a red door, outside which a lemon tree grew, should be significant. The official story though is that she was in Braavos at the time, but when we see Arya go to Braavos she notices that there are no trees in Braavos.
In this story L+R=D and Brandon+Ashara=Jon (B+A=J)
This may be over thinking things and reading far too much into fragments of knowledge (like many of Preston's videos), but it is at the very least a viable alternative to L+R=J.

No, I don't watch YouTube fan theories, I'll read stuff but prefer the 'official' info in the books
THere is a lot of waffle out there, tis true...however saying that. GRR has written the story like a history, and stuff is explicit and stuff is implicit, and he has said it'll need multiple reads. This Preston fella has simply sifted through the millions of words, and tried to piece patches on info together. I've looked at a lot of fan videos, most are ste and are the sort of tripe I could come up with, but Prston and maybe one or two others have had a Holsmian/COlumbo attitude and glued pieces together. Martin is King of the unreliable narrator. Right now R+L=J is just a theory, as is R+L=D, and the latter stands up as a theory stronger to we have in the books.I would say, at least watch the Tower of Joy and the more recent Ned and Asharar vids, they are solid.
edit to add, at least please watch those vids before arbitrarily dismissing one theory for another?
I've got to the point where I'm not interested in reading theories anymore. I've done it for years and most of them are wrong.
I'm diverting the time into other things, other stories rather than trying to guess what's going to happen. The Hodor thing was a tipping point for me, there's a master plan, it will be revealed when it's ready.

Yeah, I've got the point where I'm happy that some stuf will be revealed and some won't.
Stuff like who started the war of the five kings won't be resolved since most are dead and it's important in the big scheme. I reckon the show will be the same as the books on some stuff and will be different on some stuff, rather cool for those who like it all ways.
Next time I read the books though...I shall bloody concentrate. D:
