Looking at the trailer...is it Arya that gives the Hound his 'mortal' wounds...?

A lot of them make sense. I like the one that Tywin knew about the plot to kill Joffrey and think it may well have been true. Tywin knew Joffrey would be even less controllable as he got older so he decided to kill him or allow him to be killed at least and replace him with Tommen. This is a bit more obvious in the TV show with the scene last season "I think the King is tired" and Tywin talking to Tommen this season

I like the one where Oberyn probably poisoned Tywin.

Just read some on the Hooded Man from AdwD...bit weak those.

Also just read the Howland Reed marries A Dayne one...now that one I'd like to believe.

Episode 6 - Laws of Gods and Man
Epi 7 - Mockingbird
Epi 8 - Mountain and the Viper
Epi 9 - The Watchers of the Wall
Epi 10 - The Children

Think its quite obvious where its going now with regards to the books with later books coming in earlier. Im guessing the final scene of 10 will be Bran in the tree and making the trees alive...

Though not sure what episode 7 could relate to

After reading a tonne of ASOIAF forums...Epi 10 - The Children.
That could mean the CotF yeah, also the Children of Craster, Dani's children etc. And all the others.

So it looks like a lot of AFFC will be done and dusted by the end of season 4...

GRRM needs to get writing - season 5 could catch up with ADWD and I have read that the next book might not be ready until Autumn 2015 at the earliest.

There's no way the run of books will be complete before the series catches up, at their current pace. It took GRRM six years to write ADWD, and he's on course for 4 years for TWOW. That means that unless he puts his foot down, the final book after TWOW won't be finished until sometime around 2018-2019.

I don't know how they will play this with the series. They'll either have to take a few years' hiatus, continue with LOTS of filler, or go off on their own. None of which are particularly palatable! Can't see the notoriously ruthless US TV bosses being happy at waiting years to resolve the series...

From what i have read GRRM has told the screen writers what happens, deaths plot etc. so they can carry on with the program.

Yep DB and Dan spent a lot of time last year with GRRM so he could fill them in on the story and it's conclusion.

As much as it may upset long term readers of the book, the series will go on without the source material. We're already seeing hints in the last couple of episodes to things not yet explicitly stated in the books.

On the plus side, the last books will make a great post show accompaniment to flesh out the show I reckon.

I've been wondering whether or not they had any sort of legal contract in place with GRRM. I'd have thought the issue would have been raised when agreement was made to pay for the TV rights, e.g...

"we'll pay you x amount on condition that we are allowed to have TV firsts and finish the show before the books".

That's my prediction, he's agreed to tell them all the plot points so they can finish the show long before. I doubt the top people involved with the TV show really care about a few fantasy book lovers when non book reader ratings are so high.

Serious question, would anyone stop watching the show to wait a good few years for the books?

I have a feeling that the next two books will be released very close to each other. Due to the style of the books he can shunt chapters back and forth and has already done for the next two books. I would wager (and I don't wager) that the work is more for both, with the great weight of time being on the next one.
I wondered about why it is taking so long, but when you read the forums and see how layered the books are, how all the mad theories actually work due to the oodleplex of references strung throughout the books, one can see how the editing could take years...to be fully correct.

She can't be long for this world, I found her interrogating Sansa quite chilling. Notice her instant smile dissolve as soon as she hugged Sansa? Pure Gordon Brown/Tony Blair.

Watch/read their interviews. They love the source material and it's fandom. They already know the story arc and have a plan. The fact that GRR writes an episode a season and is a producer speaks volumes.

The fact he is signed exclusively to HBO speaks more. I don't care which ends it, the Showrunners have proved capable.

I meant if it happens rather than a straight up prediction of how it'll pan out regardless. If GRRM ends up lagging behind on the books, I could see the bigger people wading in waving contracts about.

Hopefully won't happen though and like you say, they have a plan.

Mockingjay could refer to something to do with Baelish as his house symbol is one I believe

Or it could mean Jennifer Lawrence is going to make a cameo. I know which is more likely

Must be funny to be a high profile character (though not part) to come in for a few scenes and then be killed off.

Reckon we'll see Lady Stoneheart in 10? The 'Children' might also refer to her quest to find hers.
The last ep is 66 minutes, even so, with al the different plot strands it will add up to minutes for each bit.
Will be a shame to see the Hound go...
