Halb - This death that will break the Internet... If you really haven't worked out which bit of the book that is going to be then you know nothing & I'm very disappointed in you
No, I wasn't referencing a death in regards to Pod's quote. But I reckon Pod's quote has something to do with Brienne and STannis meeting up....and maybe Sansa/Reek/Ramsay is involved in that.

I think it's got to be this, they're moving that part of the story on quite quickly. Sort of leaves them a bit knackered for next season though unless they are going to drive well ahead of the books.Halb said:
Might be easier to do fight scenes with Jorah than a 60 year old bloke.
I thought that... but, it seems not... He was expecting to be doing more & shocked by his departurehttp://www.ew.com/article/2015/05/01/ser-barristan...
Jorah cannot fulfil Barristens role fully; he didn't know her family well enough

His fight was a close-quarters one though, I don't see him springing across the fighting pits shooing a dragon away. http://www.ew.com/article/2015/05/01/ser-barristan...

So we think Jons going to die in Ep10? If so, I don't think it will shock people for long, he's contracted for Season 6
I'd always assumed that he dies and is then either revived by Melisandre, or wargs into Ghost. But in the TV show Melisandre is currently a long way from the wall, so unless we have the battle of Winterfell and Stannis loses so Melisandre returns to the wall - I think this is quite unlikely as it seems an aweful lot of ground for the show to cover.
We haven't had any hints on the TV show (at least I can't remember any) that Jon has warging abilities so I'm not sure how they could suddenly rely on this in the TV.
Which suggests that maybe we won't be having the Jon being stabbed/killed scene yet, but I'm convinced this will be their cliffhanger so I'm really puzzled as to how they are going to resolve it

As he won't have (Grey Worm &) Ser Barristian with him as they've changed the story & killed him off you mean?
I don't know, I'm guessing Ser Jorah will take Ser Barristan's place in the story, but no idea why they've done that.
I'm struggling to remember what has happened to Tyrion in book 5 - isn't he stuck being a slave of some sort ?I don't know, I'm guessing Ser Jorah will take Ser Barristan's place in the story, but no idea why they've done that.
SO there doesn't seem to be an army outside Meereen...will this be a last minute reveal in S5E10?
The battle of WIntefell...will this be resolved this year? Or will the show be like the book and leave it hanging?
Jon, so he is not actually dead, just wounded, or he genuinely dies, body goes cold and his consciousness jumps to Ghost. I reckon the latter. Mel senses this and returns to the wall to resurrect the body. Either leaving Stannis in the st, or STan has lost anyway.

Varamyr was cast last year. I foresee a scene...maybe an epilogue...maybe a scene next ep following Hardhome which shows how the entity of a human can pass to an animal. But in the TV show Melisandre is currently a long way from the wall, so unless we have the battle of Winterfell and Stannis loses so Melisandre returns to the wall - I think this is quite unlikely as it seems an aweful lot of ground for the show to cover.

Yes, but for that to happen surely they need to have given the viewer at least a hint that Jon has warging abilities and I don't recall them showing this in the TV show. I reckon the show will use Varamyr as Chekhov's gun. And for those that can join the dots, it's there.I do not think (if they play it well) that they will explicitly state it.
