I'm waiting for the paperback volume 23 to come out in a couple of weeks...it's really good!

I've got Fear Agent hardbacks waiting to be read that have good reviews.

Anyone else read Cerebus the Aardvark?

I have been reading it on and off for 25 years. Its only 300 monthly comics worth, but in graphic novel form its epic, and massively weird.

It starts totally derivative, Conan the barbarian in Aardvark form, then drifts with the authors interest and whim into politics, feminism (don't worry, hes really anti women....I think), class war, religion.

Its in no way a light weight Marvel comic, but its fantastic in the quite big sweet spot between derivative and navel gazing.

ok you are officially a bad person! I've just started reading the 1st comic and even though it's B&W it's got my attention (enjoying the Conan references too)

Well I've just finished the 6 Preacher hardbacks and really enjoyed them. Good characters and a funny twist of a story. The was a bit of meandering in there but overall well worth a read.

I also finished both Fear Agent books and they are up there as some of my favourites to date.

I really liked Peter Panzerfaust and The Manhattan Projects as well.

Batman Volume 7 - Endgame has just been released. It's a great arc, the best from the New 52 Batman so far IMO.

Fairly brutal for a Batman comic too

I still think that Court of Owls was better. It added a properly interesting new element to the Gotham City mythos.

Scott Snyder has generally been killing it with Batman though. The Zero Year thing was a bit patchy but the last couple of issues were brilliant and Capullo's art was the best I've ever seen from him.

What do you think of the current bat-bot stuff with Gordon?

I think it's working better than I expected it to and I think the new villain, Mr Bloom, could be really good!

The Court of Owls are a great addition. I loved this panel from Endgame:

Yeah I've been enjoying it. I can't help feeling that it's just going to turn into Robocop with the corporate interests versus justice angle but so far so good. I thought Mr Bloom was just going to be a throw away villain for this intro arc but the last issue with the Jock art changed my mind about him.

I'd like to see Azzarello write more Batman. Something pretty low key and street level would be cool. I liked his Joker and Luther books. He is co writing Dark Knight 3 but I don't have high hopes for it.

For any old 2000AD fans round these parts...

Remember Strontium Dog? Some people have made a fan film which I thought really captures the Doghouse, the mutie world and made me very nostalgic.

Sort of via this thread, I recently found several series of James Bond graphic novels. Have to say I enjoyed them a lot. It works very well for the character.

Try The Grand Duke by Yann & Hugault, if you fancy a WW2 Eastern Front tale
