I had this chat with a mate.

My go to recommendation now is Michael Connelly. Easy read, gripping, engaging but doesn't make you feel like you are losing brain cells like Dan Brown.

I've just sent him on his way with some Murakami now, which he is really enjoying.

I love reading. If given the choice between tv and a book I'd tend to go book.

I normally prefer autobiographies as opposed to fiction type stuff. Have read a few but rarely get much if a chance however I have another work trip coming up and so was looking for a new read for the journey and two weeks of darkness. I was looking for that new Chris hadfield book but it's only available in hardback at the mo. Whilst searching I found riding rockets by an astronaut called mike Mullen. I'm worried I may have finished it before I board the plane now. It's very good.

A bloke at work, was the Leeds University Students union entertainments rep, and I suggested he read Andrew Kershaws Autobiography. I cried in the middle.

I was the same, never got through a book at school although I read some Adrian mole diaries which I did enjoy.

12/13 years later I found Hayward marks Mr Nice in my brothers room, I couldn't put it down, found it a great read.

I continue to read but not fiction, nothing against fiction but when I have the option of reading something true or fiction the former wins. History and crime is my read of choice now.

I wish I wasn't forced to read Shakespeare at school. Put me right off.

I saw this in a charity shop the other day and almost bought it.

I've finished World War Z now and really enjoyed it. I also watched the film, which seems to have absolutely nothing to do with the book?

I've now just started Sherlock Holmes, 56 short stories. Totally different to the books I've read so far. I'll keep going but if I dint enjoy the Bear Grylls could be a good option. :-)

Ermm..Shakespeare obviously didn't put you off either history or crime did it ? Quite a lot of both in the Bard's work you'll find.
