I can do that as well. Trouble is by the time I get to the thrilling denoument I'm almost speed-reading and probably missing half of what's going on.
You're doing it wrong, what's the rush? hehe Re-read it twice, in the end. wink
Life's too short to read a Reacher novel more than once! hehe

Banks is very good, as always the books are better than the TV series. Apart from anything else, I don't picture Banks as anything like the guy that plays him on TV.

If you like those, there's also the Bob Skinner series from Quintin Jardine, and I also quite liked the Charlie Priest books by Stuart Pawson. And Graham Hurley's Joe Faraday series. With apologies if some or all of those have already been mentioned.

I read a couple of John Connolly books, and although they were generally good, I can't be doing with spirits and ghosts and so on.
Yes, I'm enjoying Banks and I like the fact that there are loads in the series. It's just a case of winding down from L.A. detectives and serial killers into something with a more British pace. Well written and I'm only about 70% into the very first of the series. And no wizards! Hahahaha. smile

Lee Child to answer questions on goodreads.com 26 September.

What would you ask him?

How does Reacher keep his finger and toenails trimmed?

I've just finished the last Banks novel... 24 or more in the series.... enjoyed every one. smile

I will take a look at the Bob Skinner series and have just downloaded book one.

Why does one book say he never uses a toothbrush and another see him search one out to clean his teeth...?

Excellent. My wife will be happy as well, she finally finished reading all her crappy vampire novels and started reading my Reacher books. She was so hooked on them she finished the entire series within a couple of months. She's currently working her way through my collection of "Harry Bosch" books.

Thanks for the Bob Skinner recommendation. Am on book 7 and enjoying them.

To be honest it was a bit excessive. She is a very fast reader, but even so she was spending hours every evening and lunchtimes at work.

60 days 20 books all of which are the 500-600 page veriety.

When without kids on holiday I could blitz books in 2 days/3 I worst case - actually talking to people over head on a book. But to do that vine in that timeframe wow hardcore they are good books but not that good - easy beach reading IMHO and I've got them all.

Reading it at the moment, probably half way through. Pretty typical example of the series, which is a good thing thumbup

I enjoyed it, even if it was a bit grim.

You do have to wonder at this stage why Reacher hasn't become a legend in his own right, a sort of Keyser Soze if you will. After all, his kill count must be in the hundreds by now.

I've got the back end of what must be the 10th or more Reacher book I've read now by the side of the bed at the moment. I just can't be bothered to finish it as I know all that's coming next is the usual slaughter of the bad guys wrap up. I think I may have reached "peak Reacher".
