I have edited my quoted post - I've read all the Tom Thorne novels. Very good they were too. Also Mo Hayder - all read.

I'm not great at remembering what I've read until I go to have a look on Amazon to find I purchased them and read them ages ago.

Edited to say thanks for the suggestions all the same. smile
Stuart McBride - Logan McCrae series
Peter Robinson - Inspector Banks
Lynwood Barclay

Seems we like the same sort of books so I'm sure you will enjoy them. I'm on the 3rd one on the series and like them a lot.

yep can confirm Nomad was pretty awful IMHO

Orphan X much better albeit a bit of a Jason Bourne rip off 7/10
Also read You're Next by same author, solid 7/10 again nothing too taxing or original

Another in the ex-special forces turned superhero genre:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Red-Thunder-Regan-Action-...

Not the most sophisticated bit of writing but a good story. Our hero spends the beginning of the story being tortured in a North Korean prison camp so maybe not one for the ladies wink

The Stephen Leather books are pretty good, a series about an undercover guy called Dan Shepherd, and some standalones.

Dewey Andreas series by Ben Coes

Power Down
Coup d'Etat
The Last Refuge
Eye for an Eye
Independence Day
First Strike
Trap the Devil

I started reading First Strike by mistake not realising it wasn't the first book in the series so stopped about 1/4 of the way through (which was hard as I was really enjoying it) and started reading Power Down.

Both are really, really good and proper page turners so far. Exactly the type of books I like.

Again very much in the Reacher action style of books. Andreas is a 6ft 4, 250 lb ex Delta soldier who is after terrorists / ISIS etc.

Power Down was only £2 on Kindle as well.

Highly recommended.
Thanks for this recommendation, I'm almost at the end of Power Down and have thoroughly enjoyed it. Looking forward to the next one thumbup

Just finished Tripwire. Might be getting a little bored with Mr. Reacher. Should I stick with the next volume?

Don't all of the above realease a new novel each year? As such you will have about 20 year on year to read ao 2 weeks+ per book or a bit less and whatever else you fancy is easily a years worth of reading banked.

Not all of them - I don't remember the last time I saw a new Quintin Jardine book, and I don't think Tim Weaver rushes them out. Stuart McBride seems to be doing more non-McRae novels now, and even the new Michael Connelly isn't Bosch or Haller.

Seconded, I have really enjoyed all of Mark Dawson's books including the Soho noir series and the one off non-action thrillers.

I have... I've edited my quote above. I've read the 6 books in the John Milton series. But haven't tried Isabella Rose yet - I will come back and read them. The Gray Man is quite good, just getting into it.

There are - thanks.... just checked.

I'm pretty sure that when I was reading them, not too long ago, there were only 6 on Kindle available.
