Terry Pratchett
Discussion
I really envy anybody who has never read any Terry Pratchett books. I mean, can you imagine what it must be like to have all those books, just stretching out ahead of you waiting to be read and enjoyed for the first time.
I think I'd recommend starting as they were written, despite the fact the first books were very different to the later ones. Not knowing anything else, I though the first ones were great, and they just kept getting better (apart from "Dodger").

Agree with this, I put off reading them for years, then I picked up 'Colour of magic', the rest they say is history.I think I'd recommend starting as they were written, despite the fact the first books were very different to the later ones. New PTerry out on Nov 7th
A new Moist story aswell
Steam! About Moist being put in charge of making sure A-M's first "steam" engine and its associated consequences doesnt cause too much trouble or the man who invented it "tha man wit t'flat cap".
I regard the 2 Most novels as 2 of his best. I am, therefore, *very* looking forward to this

I read Pyramids first as a teenager, then went back and started from the beginning.
This has spurned me on to get back on it and finish them. Sure i've still got them all in the loft so i should be able to find where i left off.
Alternatively, starting from the beginning again is quite appealing!
As above, JK Rowling should hang her head in shame/cry herself to sleep on her giant ill gotten money pile.

Massive shame. Terry's books were the first ones that really got me into reading, having randomly selected Pyramids to read as a 13 year old on a Norfolk Broads holiday. Well I say randomly, the cover art of Ptraci might have had a small thing to do with it.
His books must have brought joy to millions, and his public battle with Alzheimers hopefully also helped the cause in that fight. A massive loss, RIP.
