Andy,
Hope the book sales are going well, I know for one the difference between the early version and the published version is quite significant. It really shows the work of the editor and its significance to the finished article. Congratulations on a great read.
The new book is taking a good shape.
Interestingly enough I have a copy of Prometheus that was meant to be an early form before re-writing and I think its actually better than the film, but then again I enjoyed the original Alien more than any subsequent ones, mainly for its person development and level of tension rather than just plain actions sequence after sequence. I suspect that was also part of the reason I enjoyed Noah's Ark.
They're trundling along nicely, thank you. Yeah, the edit was quite significantly polished up, and I'm pleased that people seem to be enjoying it on the whole. Every positive review on amazon.com makes it worth the months of work!Hope the book sales are going well, I know for one the difference between the early version and the published version is quite significant. You know, I heard about that Prometheus thing. Apparently the original draft was written for a standalone film, and then it was redrafted to become a series of films, hence the weird ending to Prometheus. Alien is my favourite of the bunch too, and for the same reason: I love the tension. The amazing direction also adds the beauty of the film.
I'd also like to add: if you've read Vessel and enjoyed it, I'd really, really appreciate a review on Amazon.com (specifically .COM, where most of my sales are). You don't need to be in the US to post a review there. Here's a link: http://tinyurl.com/reviewvesselnovel
