Has anyone ever written a novel?

Despite having a dreary career in IT, I have always wanted to write a novel. I wrote several short stories in my younger days, and I always meant to write a novel, I planned and started one once, however work and kids meant that it never came to fruition.

These days though I have a bit more time on my hands and I have thought about going back and trying again. I would be interested if anyone else has ever given it a go.

I've written a book, but it was an academic history book, not a novel.

Yep, this is basically the same as me. I have written the outline of what happens but have never got round to actually writing it.

I haven't. But a couple of my sister's friends have; both teen stories about angst and vampires (or something!). One of the two has a three-book deal.

Of course they have, there are loads of novels out there, just walk into your local book shop of library
