Recomendations for a generic car maintanance guide

I have a copy of Collin's Complete DIY Manual, and very handy it has been for explaining the concepts behind DIY (techniques and practices).

Is there an equivelent for car maintanence? Not specific to particular models/manufacturers but something that covers the practical day to day aspect of keeping a shed on the road?

I have Hilliar's Fundamentals of Motor Vehicle Technology, which whilst interesting, is a a bit light on the practical aspect. I am looking for something a bit beyond the basics, really just looking for the clear tips and approach for car maintanance that I felt were explained in the Collin's DIY Manual.

I think I am look for something like Zinn and the Art of Bycicle Maintanence but for cars. Any recommendatons?
