Hi all - this may be a stupid question with an obvious answer, however, just wanted to see if anyone knew any tips or tricks.

My wife has asked me about getting a Kindle - what's the cheapest way to get into this? If we get a Kindle Unlimited subscription does this come with a half price Kindle? smile

oh well, as i type i am realising this may come across as a stupid post lol.

Black Friday or any of the frequent Amazon product sales.

A Kindle Unlimited subscription may be good value but it's worth weighing up the monthly cost v how many books she'll read.

Thanks Mr. J

For now (tonight) she is using her phone to do it - not ideal. We'll either stump up the £85 or wait for a sale, but that could be a long while.

If you already have Amazon Prime (some music, TV, free delivery) then you get Prime Books (or something like that) which doesn’t have all books but has a decent selection.

Prime reading is free if you do have Amazon Prime. You get a reasonable selection of books, but you are likely to get in a situation where you get hooked on the first book in a series, then have to buy the rest. Rarely do you get follow up books on Prime.

Kindle unlimited is different, you will usually get a full series and if you do read more than say three books a month, it will work out cheaper.

They used to bundle a couple of months subscription to Unlimited when you buy a new Kindle, not sure if they do at the moment.

I do have a suspicion that Amazon might have suffered a bit with unlimited recently though, people seem to be dropping it.

My wife self publishes and the page count from unlimited is half what it was six months ago. It’s hurting the royalties!
