Sorry to be a bit slow on this, but I've only just come back to PH after a long-ish break...

were the Dokic family fictional then??? who, where what how?

yours,

confused of surrey...

Yes.

I'm amazed at the labour rate. How come a major service costs £25k then? Obviouusly new parts will be horrendous but not that many of the cars will ever do more than a couple of thousand miles a year. Rowan Atkinson said the clutch needs replacing on his every 3000 miles though which has got to be getting near £10k as a lambo clutch is a good £3K

Still wouldnt put me off buying one if I had the readies though

right - now we have the F1, can someone find me a (*REAL*) PHer who owns a Porsche 959?

Thanks

(all time desired car - well consistently enough for the past few years at least...)

If i had a choice it'd be the Rothmans Paris-Dakar version, but you know, whatever's to hand!

Somebody told me Rowan Atkinson managed to write his F1 off...

Not sure I believe it though.

If it's Liam Howlett, then I would like to be the first to say:

Never heard of the other bloke.

He has 2. One is the 'standard' road car (honestly who buys the BASE model??? ) the other is a longtail version.

One has custom blue paintwork. Apparently he was having a cup of tea at Mel Smith's house (of Smith & Jones fame) and really liked the colour of the mug so he took it to Maclaren and had them match the colour.

I would also love to have a full report on the car / ownership. They are so rare and most owners would never give out details. Pictures would be good too

Nope.

That's the 4wd 911 that preceded the 959 and was used to test some of the bits on the Paris-Dakar.

Close though...

As far as i'm aware he's only got a road car version. it was involved in an accident a few years back, but it was'nt written off.

I'd also like to know why the clutch needs replacing after only 3000 miles. Doesn't seem logical ?

Well i imagine it goes something like

<calmly get in car and attach seat belt>

<start engine>

<rev engine and listen to crisp purposeful engine note>

<fix inane manic grin>

<drop clutch, full bore, manically screaming down the road>

3,000 miles would be fair game i reckon...

Seen him in a dodgy dark maroon one earlier this year at Donington, the colour really didn't do the car justice (IMHO)

He did have a famous F1 meets Fiesta moment years ago, but was spotted at this years GP in it.

I do believe it was a Metro - F1 suffered quite a bit of damage, Metro pretty much unscathed as the F1 just scooped it up onto the bonnet!

The clutches are a bit fragile apparently but treated with care they will last. This particular example is on 20,000 miles on the original clutch.

Please can we avoid the guessing games regarding his identity? He's happy to contribute in due course but he would like to try and retain some anonymity (difficult with such a rare car).

I'd like to try and respect that request.
