Top post, reading it slowly gives a sense of what it must be like with such a surreal vehicle.
Newer supercars may go round most tracks faster and maybe that keoeoenisessggssggsegss czzcrrrzrabc123 thingy may manage a higher top speed (with forced induction - wot a cheat), but the Macca F1 will always be the one to stand out in the history books maybe down to the timing or just the sheer purity of design.
The idea of ringing up base and saying "My car needs a service, can you put a mechanic on a plane please" is just unreal!!

Thanks for sharing your experience with a car that so few of us are ever likely to own, however much we might like to!
You mention having taken the trouble to learn more about driving such cars before taking delivery. May I ask what you used to drive - one would assume you had some previous experience of fast cars! Was the difference so great that you needed extra instruction, presumably beyond what Maclaren would give you on taking delivery?

I'd have to imagine buying something rather more expensive than most cars would be reason enough to take time to learn a bit more. Also, I think the relative ease the car puts on speed and the high speeds you can and obviously will want to experience are another good reason.
Sounds like a very smart man to me. Unlike the footballers we hear of every other week stuffing their motors and wasting the work of many a hard working employee at Maranello Just having the money does not qualify you to drive something fast, er........fast.
Only 187mph for me so what do I know about it
