I'm new to the forum - so thanks in advance for your help.

I'm wanting to convert a Ford 2.8 V6 (Cologne) with Type 9 gearbox from cable clutch to hydraulic clutch and am under the impression some TVR & Fords are adapted using this setup using a Rover SD1 type slave cylinder mounted on a bracket with the actuating rod operating clutch arm.

Can anyone tell me if this conversion setup is available to buy, and if so, where from ? (ie the bracket, cylinder and arm). Alternatively does anyone have a spare they'd be willing to sell.

Cheers
Mark

You're probably best off asking this on the "engines" forum, it'll get swallowed up in the noise here

Welcome to PH BTW

I'm afraid I can't help you directly with the question but this is a picture of the slave in position if that's any help to you...

This is from my tvr s3 which had the 2.9 engine coupled to a type 9 gearbox. I'd say the bracket looks pretty easy to make although the arm would be more of a problem.

Here's a picture of the arm from inside the bell housing...

Maybe if you contact David Gerald TVR they may be able to help... they never failed me when I had the car.

Good luck,

Mark

No problem. From memory the bracket is only bolted at the front and there was a lip at the back of the bracket which located it in the hole in the bellhousing.

Yeah I was just looking at the single bolt and guessing it must have been secured elsewhere too.

Be great if I could get one of the peg

Post the same question in the S forum in the TVR bit. The S1 has the 2.8i engine in and the type 9 gbox and the S2s and S3s have the 2.9i. They will probably be able to point you in the direction of a supplier or a breaker or someone may just have one kicking about.
