Did anyone see the article in the times where a company has formulated the technology to change your car colour at a touch of a button?

Sometimes I don't know why I bother
Mercedes have invented a new type of Silver - looks quite cool to me? (The paint that is, not the car!)
"This Merc benefits from a new exterior paint, which makes its world debut at the Paris show. This features a high-gloss finish designed to surround the vehicle like a metallic skin. The shiny, high-luminance coating is the result of a sophisticated new development process which Mercedes says is likely to become a production reality."

My current Audi is silver and although I used to think silver looked bland, I think it suits my car very well.
Yup, it suits my Audi too. But I've got one in silver because it was the only (local) A3 available with the spec I was after and at a competitive price. However, the only drawback is that there are so many silver cars and it makes my choice look more like a fashion statement (ie, following the current trend) rather than being the make and model I wanted in a colour that I had no objections to.
I purchased mine second hand so no choice.
People may perceive silver as a popular colour so buy a silver car to increase resale value even if they would prefer another colour, I could understand fleet buyers doing the same.
Hasn't the police recently switched to silver cars as they increase the resale value.

Personally I think there is too many silver cars on the road, they all look the same.
When I buy a car I like it to be different, stand out somehow, probably explains why I bought a bright yellow car!! Makes it easier to find it in the carparks as well.
On another note its a total pain in the e to keep a colour like that clean and shiny.

I have silver as I can't be arse to clean it. Hence it looks like gunmetal grey.
Used to have black a lot, which looks good for five minutes after a wash, then looks utter pants.
Besides, you need a nice car to have something like yellow or red - porsche, ferrari or lambo. Cheap cars in lurid colours just look tacky and naff. Call the fashion police!

IIRC Bertone would show his concepts in no other colour as it best complemented their lines.
I don't know if this is worse for you silver slaggers, but I love grey cars. It's just lovely, sophisticated and understated. If I had a Ferrari, it would be metallic dark grey. Likewise a Lambo, Porsche...anything really.

I agree. Not that it has anything to do with the fact that I'm taking possession in the next week or so of a dark metallic grey car in addition to my silver one! But hey, grey definitely looks classy IMHO.

What is it with all these Silver / Grey BORING cars!
I counted 100+ on the M4 yesterday between J12 and J13 whilst going the other way last night. Same thing this morning.
Only Silver car would have to be a 1930's Auto Union or Merc race car otherwise buy a COLOURED car!
Why buy a silver car? Please explain as I don't get it.
I went for silver on mine but then it is modelled on Auto Union racers and is made by Auto Union. Would have been rude not to.

Bought my (work) Eurobox as an ex-demo. They call it "Atlas Grey" or some such facetious rubbish.
Audi refer to the colour as 'Metallic Silver'. Don't you just love Germans?
