Just to have my 2p worth, I think JC is very entertaining. Like most other PHers i rate Top Gear above almost if not all other shows on TV (possibly with the exception of porn) and reckon the mix of the three presenters is great. Maybe JC does have i bit of an ego but i don't know him personally so i won't comment, and if i had his job i'd be so much worse!

Hopefully it'll make a great stunt though - and I hope we see the aftermath

they should have rolled the car out with a parachute,THAT would have been a stunt.

No. They should have rolled Clarkson out without a parachute - now THAT would have been a stunt!

IMO I dont think the bloke does our motoring cause any favours at all. His views are extreme and he intentionally delivers them in such a way to be inflamatory. The general public dont like extreme views in either direction and can easily take offence. He gives petrolheads a bad name.

On TV and in the press he comes accross as a big-headed, obnoxious, badly-dressed tosser whos got way too big for his own cowboy boots. However, in reality apparently hes a nice bloke who's quite down to earth. If only he'd adopt the same character in public - he'd be far more acceptable to a greater number of people and thus more persuasive.

but would lose his job as he wouldn't have the 'persona' needed to host a show anymore
