Mmmmm, I noticed that the photograph was taken by a certain John Nichol, I wonder if it's the very same John Nichol who was captured and tortured by the Iraqis in 1990.....
He joined the RAF in 1981......
I've got a signed copy of one of his books - which I'm slightly embarrassed to say I've not read. Nice chap - shook hands etc.
Also had Nigella Lawson sign one of her books for me - she was quite clearly up for it too, but her acolytes dragged her off before I could steer the conversation in the necessary direction
