Probably the 60s Merc 300SEL 6.3.

Or the bloke who raced a Bentley Turbo R at Silverstone last year.

Metro to 6R4 has got to win, all the other car's had something going for them to start with but the Metro

the problem withthe 6R4 is the only "metro" thing about it is the windscreen. the rest is purely built for the 6R4. i prefer road-to-race cars which are unchanged or only created using their original parts.

i have a few:

whenever i take spectators to watch racing for the first time they are often surprised to see cars like this racing, and i can see why but i guess i have just got used to it:

but it does make for impressive grids (sorry for the crappyness of the pic)

and another would be this thing which i saw racing at chimay in the summer of 2004

How about this one - you've got to admit, this looks a little dull....

....until you make it look (and go ) like this!

A little dull, but of course the base car looked more like *this*.

And the WRC car was so fast they banned it to give everyone else a chance... (and because of a small matter of cheating....)

We need some 2CV racing pics Or even some Reliant Robin racing pics.
What is the big saloon that Rowan Atkinson races ?
How about a Ford Galaxy (old 60's car, not the MPV) ?
The Pug 207CC rally car is also suprising too. Why rally a 'softop' ?
I supose we could also include truck racing, caravan racing, the "Top Gear MPV" racing, and the banger racing with one chained on top of another, with one doing the steering and the other driver doing the stop/go bit.
Also, VW had a diesel van race car too. Right O chaps, we just need to find the pics now.

I race an MG Metro - some people find that amusing

It is also surprising for people when they get overtaken on a test day
