It goes around corners well, and it will be road legal. It has a BMW steering set up, and whilst its no Exige, its no Cunard either. The mission is, to get 1 more bhp than the Veyron, for no more than 10k. We'd like to see it get 200 this summer, at Bruntingthorpe.
Its in PPC Mag, where its one of our Staff Cars (just pipping our track Silver Shadow 1 project on the outrage stakes). Charlie is an automotive Fred Dibnah, a genuine genius. He scraches his nuts a lot too, the genuine thing.

so are you after the veyrons lowest quoted output in hot weather (1001bhp) or it's more regular 1200bhp or so?
How much boost were you planning to run? Early merlins ran 6psi later upped to about 12psi and then 25psi late in the war, put out around 2640bhp at that setting I think. They were running two superchargers in series with an intercooler inbetween though, rather than twin turbos.
You should be able to not only beat the Veyrons output but obliterate it I would think, depending on how long you want the engine to last between overhaul of course

No more than 7. That should be.. adequate.
An update..
As Summer Is almost with us, work on the Rover has continued apace. The wiring is all but in, just a few jobs to do there. The Diggersquirt system, designed by Charlie’s mate Digger, will need mapping, and we hope to find a private lane to do that..
Although it looks like a bag of nails, its all there really, it just needs slotting together now. The battery from Powervamp and the fire system from Lifeline have been installed. Technology has certainly shifted.. the new battery is only a couple of years younger than the previous one, but churns out the same power, but with half the weight.. perhaps mobile phones have been a blessing after all. And Charlie is now safe surrounded by enough a fire suppression system which wouldn’t have gone amiss in Windsor Castle a few years back.
We were considering using a beer keg for the petrol..
.. but the offer of a bespoke tank came up, which is in itself, a work of art. Designed especially for the Rover by the Stig of the Fabrication world, known only by his trademark ‘Gazzawaki’. The welding is a joy to see, it’s a credit to craftsmanship.
The braking distribution has been finished too.. the pressure regulator is now working, and controls the amount of braking force able to be generated to the rear tyres. The battery master switch next to it is ready to go, and if all goes well, we should have it MoT’d in a few weeks, and it could get to Goodwood FoS under its own steam if the final snagging goes well. A certain motoring programme has declared an interest in filming the 200 mph attempt, so watch this space for that too.
Charlie and the team will be at the PPC pub meet tomorrow (Fri 26th May) if anyone wants to come along for a gas and a burger.
