I've been looking for PPC all over, but it seems subscription is the way to go to make sure you get it easily and not miss an issue!

Sounds good enough to stop bothering with Evo too, can find most of the Evo type material online now anyway. Probably still get TCOTY and ECOTY and ones that get a good PH review though smile

Yeah, PPC, great magazine! Those guys seem like a great bunch of characters who have a great attitude towards having fun with cars without spending a fortune, not really another mag like it. clap

Although I still involved with the automotive sector, I am no longer with PPC or publishing Ben, so I’m not taking the fall for this one (although I do still get the occasional call asking me where an errant subs copy is)! Here though, one for you that has never been seen.

If anyone is north of Stamford, Lincs this weekend and interested, Charlie is taking the car to the South Witham village fete, just off the A1.

Al, I need to talk to someone @ PPC about offering a free set of H beam rods like these for my Volvo you did a readers cars thing on.

I have been asked by the owner of R sport Internatonal to approach yu guys. We want to offer a free set of rods to a deserving case to promote these rods in the UK, but none of you guys are doing anything noteworthy apart from Charlie and Toby.

Wanna chat?
Hi, I wasn't being rude.. sorry for not replying!

Could I suggest you speak to Kev on 01780 758800?

For the attention of Al Rush.
Can you tell me what connection you have with Charlie as we poped up to see Charlie about a year ago to see the Rover and engine for the first time, since seeing this thread I wondered how you know so much of whats going on, do you keep in touch with Charlie on a regular basis. I gather Charlie has inlet airflow probs is this due to the custom built inlet manifold? As I have a standard Meteor MkIII is there any measurements or help I can give ?

R Cubed
I spoke with Charlie earlier today funnily enough, to see if he wanted to go to the Duxford Airshow this weekend. If you'd like to PM me your contact details, I'd be glad to pass them on to him, I know he always appreciates advice or help. Sorry for the tardy response!

Hope that doesn't mean the end of this excellent thread?

I'm not sure if anyone from the mag is still updating folk and I certainly wouldn't want to represent them. I didn't just come here to throw PPC spam about the place, I've loved cars since I was a lad and I admire Charlie and his work more than most folk. I'd be glad to drop titbits in from time to time.

I like the idea of butting a 27 liter motor in a car but a Rolls engine into that car is a bit like putting a Picasso into a outhouse
To put the matter right.

The Meteor, whilst a Rolls Royce design, was manufactured by Rover under licence for use in tanks. It is a multi-fuel engine, ie: smells like it might burn - pour it in the tank. I am informed that they run well, if a little smoky, on a cresote/paraffin/petrol mix.

Therefore, you could say that Charlie has done nothing more than put a bigger Rover engine in his Rover.

The YouTube vids of it are too tantalisingly short. More more!!

That's what I call a shopping car!

I shall endeavour to overcome my shortcomings (namely, the footage of it, Charlie and me getting put on the web when I have a moment).

I was driving back from Melton the other evening and it came towards me. I recognised it immediately, but it still made me laugh as it flew past me. The Alfa bucked and wobbled, birds dropped dead from the sky and that note..

I was at Charlie's place last week (the spakker Alfa needs a door hinge re welding) and we talked about the problems faced by funding the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight in these days of overstretch. Charlie has offered to put Invasion Stripes on the Rover before it hits the 'ring soon to raise cash ansd to get the message across that the BBMF is simply, awesome. I suggested that maybe.. just maybe, their illustrious 'Airships' at the Air Ministry might lose one or two monacles at that quite incorrect thought..

Dunno about you, but I'd sponsor a stripe. wink

I noticed in the latest PPC it has gained a coat of satin black. I think some invasion stripes would finish it off a treat! thumbup

Along with some of the above have moved subs to PPC, its a great magazine and unlike evo and the etc the staff actually know what goes on inside an engine without the aid of a press pack wink Keep up the good work fellas.

Awesome work!

I have recently subscribed to PPC mag, back dated from issue 40 to the present. However I NEED issues 0 to 40! If anyone wants to sell me this complete set I'll pay a fair amount for them. So long as they're mint and no are missing smile

Any updates on the project? I remembered it the other day and looked around the net but couldn't find any recent info. Is it still driving? Any pics/videos??

Generally the mag itself is the best place to read about it. Although it doesn't feature in every issue.
Sometimes updates are posted in the PPC mag forums too. So it may be worth a look there also: http://ppcmag.co.uk/forum/

I don't think anyone officially involved with the car posts here on PH anymore, which is a shame..
