It recently lunched it's torque convertor. An according to the last mag article was awaiting a custom built one.

bear in mind the mag articles seem to be about 3 months behind real life. TO be brutally honest this car is one of two reasons i continue to read PPC, it might result in my not renewing subscription, in favour of the new Performance Car mag

Is there any update or news to this car? Interested as it was all hectic at one point and then all seemed to go quiet.

Read PPC. It's Charlie Broomfield's.

I believe it's pretty much up and running now, though.

Gearbox issues ...the auto box that was being used was not geared for the magic double ton so changes are in the pipeline I believe.

Indeed. It runs a TH400 box, but he needs to spin it at around 9k RPM - which is scary high.

Yeah, they closed the factory and got sold to someone in China who now makes some tatty looking MG thing. It was all over the news, surprised you didn't know about it.

Found this old thread after watching a just published 3 part interview with Charlie Broomfield on “The Hot Rod Gazette” channel on YouTube. Check it out.

Car doesn’t seem to have progressed much in the last 15 years but he’s now in the depths of fitting a whopping supercharger to the front of the engine.
