Hey there guys, I'm also looking for sum1 to do the stone chips on my bonnet and also two linear scratch marks about 3cm long on the door. (dnno what couldve done that weird scratch).
Saw some posts abt chip pros in surrey area, but no contact details etc.
Can sum1 point me to a reasonably priced pro in kingston, southwest london or london area?
Wouldnt mind chipsguy if he covers london lol.
Color: Bmw carbon black.

But yeah, I'm still looking for someone experienced for my stone chips and weird small scratches. Could it have been a rat?
ChipsAway Russ Bryan is Buckinghamshire-based, is that close enough to you? I can vouch for him - and he's a member of the network's steering group responsible for continuous improvement and product R&D. His mobile is 07961 978419.
Usual disclaimer, we're part of the same network but there's no formal link between his business and mine, etc.

Hi All,
New member here.
I've picked up a number of nasty stone chips on the front wing and bonnet of my car and have read through many of the discussions about the pros and cons of chipsaway.
Car is an 05 BMW 330D touring in silver.
I've got my local chipsaway guy coming out to give me a quote this morning but wondered if anyone had any experience of their service in the Luton & Dunstable area?
If Anatol reads this - can he recomend anyone local to me? If not, Cambridge isn't so far for me to get to him.....
Many thanks
Kevin

Have a read of the recent threads in Bodywork & Detailing on chip repairs. For reasons gone into detail there, chip repairs on a silver short of a full resprayed repair are likely to be disappointing to a perfectionist or enthusiast - just an unfortunate side-effect of the physics of reflection.
Chips repairs on a silver should be regarded as protecting the underlying metalwork from environmental damage only. Cosmetically the improvement is not great.
To give you an idea - we do not offer chip repairs (short of full respray) on silvers as a paid service, only as a free extra.
If you want or need the chips to go away, budget for respraying the affected panels. On silver bonnet and wing of that size, the financial implications of that usually mean that the car owner decides a quick, affordable protective-but-not-really-cosmetic repair is the better option.
