Do wot?!!

Anyway, looks pretty interesting as far as I'm concerned, liking the interior as well, as had been said colours are all there to be changed!

Cheers,
Rob

My two penneth....

I applaud Marcos and any other British manufacturer for 'going for it' with a bold look and a proper V8. But...

For me the interior/exterior styling contradicts. Good front end similar to a TVR (and we know why that is) and is of the here and now/future. But then the interior is retro and doesn't suit the exterior imho. The car looks best from the rear three quarter view and I'm glad the huge vents are now painted the same as the body colour. However, the seal angling sharply at the rear door interface is plain ugly.

I'd have to go for the hard top but then....

...If I want the retro look in a modern car I'll go for what looks like the Superformance Daytona LM Coupe in the background. I remember seeing VBH do an article on 5th gear about it and was blown away by the noise looks and performance. ok i know it costs about 80k

Now yer talkin' !!

Good luck to Marcos. I love my T350 but think the coupe is a good effort. There are some similarities in the treatment of the lights but thats it-overall stance and body proportions are very different. Front view of the Targa screen and roof look a bit boxy to me though.
Having spent all this time fettling and refining they deserve to shift a few.

rev counter/speedo really need to be behind the steering wheel..

Outisde looks better, still don't like the gills though...
The mechanical packaging is tempting, plus hatchback relatively small light? car..

Not quite 'pretty' enough for me.
A full convertible might do it, depending how they traet the back end.

Having been lucky enough to drive the GTO with both early and later tunnels, the later one is vast improvement. The balance of the instruments to switches is much better on the later one, and the design layout mirrors the clocks, is lit, and is just such a nice touch.

The increase in padding on the door linings should be a bit more comfortable for resting those elbows too.

Have to say that looking at the options list, the prices for upgrades/changes don't appear very steep, also given that there aren't that many of them needed. Take a look at your local BMW/Mercedes additions list for comparison.

The exhaust note when I first drove the car was OK, but not quite right. Tony had a go in our Griff, and went away nodding sagely. It'll be interesting to hear just how close the lads and lasses in Kenilworth have got.

I said a year ago that there were a fair number of V8 TVR owners with the money and desire to change their cars for something newer, but with a V8. I also reckon there's going to be quite a few S6 owners looking very closely at these cars.

And when the convertible appears in a little while..........

The designer (Damien McTaggert) I presume looks like he uses a 4" brush rather than fine pencils / cad cam..

Styling detail to heavy for me..

Not interested in buying.

The mirrors look the same on both cars to me. They are an improvement over the proto cars which didn't give much of a view.

An earlier post mentioned the targa panels not looking very tight - looking at the picture above, the offending photo and the Marcos web site, I can guess what's happened. Tony Stelliga is doing a presentation of the cars in the photo above.
My guess is that the blue car had its catches undone in the offending photo so Chiara could lift the panels out while he talked. The 'gap' would suggest that the panels fit quite tightly against their rubber seals which in turn (I am guessing) means wind noise is suppressed well - and knowing Tony's vehemence about "no leaks" I'd bet money you could jet wash the RT's roof without it leaking.

I think the Marcos GTC looks way better then a daytona coupe or a big heavy dodge viper!
I saw them both in the flesh and then the bubble bursts? the daytona is not nice anough and those stupid plastic side windows you can't wind dowm only a hole in it? also don't like that rear end...the viper is to heavy and to big?
This new Marcos GTC from what I see from this pictures and the pictures on the marcos web albert showed are from a marcos in a high standard and looking very promissing me thinks, they use good engine's a far better bodywork with nice shut lines, and a well finished interior thats a bit strange but me thinks also origenal and euhm strange but strange is nice I'm strange too but nice lol...

IIRC when Evo tested one of these back to back with a Sagaris they said the Marcos was a little quicker and with slightly better handling ... marginal differences only ... the kind of differences that really amount to little more than personal taste, rather than objective superiority. Nonetheless, that means Marcos have served up a car that rivals (and possibly surpasses) TVR's best effort to date dynamically, is likely to be more reliable than a TVR and has slightly less in-your-face styling. By any stretch of the imagination, Marcos is targetting a large chunk of the market segment that for the last few years has pretty exclusively belonged to TVR. If TVR want to defend this they are going to have to raise their game. Let's hope they do so. Who knows, maybe they'll be able to show us something encouraging at teh Motor Show?

80k + VAT so nowhere near the same price as the Marcos.

It couldn't have been the Superformance Daytona Coupe you saw then (its the 80k one)as that has proper wind down windows. You must have seen another replica.

Sorry, just looks like a cheap version of the TVR T350 to me, and the detailer forgot to blacken the tyres (small point i know!!)

You really should take a closer look at this car. It's very, very different from a TVR.

I think it's a great looking car ... although I haven't seen one in person. TVR seems to have lost their way and forgot what car (Chimaera) put them where they are today. V8 Growl and good looks.
