RE: 'Are you VXR enough?' is OK

I don't think it is flying out of the showrooms in record numbers. Its a overpowered, heavy, dull as ditchwater fwd with no lsd who is going to buy it. This kind of publicity is probably doing this car a world of good, they might actually sell one. I can't understand how they manage to sell the Focus Sanitory Towel its even worse.

Have you driven the VXR or Focus ST?, I dont think dull is a word that springs to mind, especially in the VXR! 240bhp, fwd !!

Its pathetic complaining about things like this, what do the complainers get out of it? and why do they have so much free time to do this? probably because they consider every hobby to dangerous to compete in and have nothing better to do.
If they were Ford/Renault/VW/etc... employees, they would have a lot to gain.
I suspect 99% of all these so called 'complaints' are just plants from competitors?

THing is though, I'd rather have a BMW. These new hot hatches are too heavy, too smooth, and too luxurious to be proper "hot hatches" IMO.
And if you are going to have such a car, you might as well have one with a proper engine - i.e. a 6 cylinder NA engine instead of a 4 / 5 pot with a hair dryer on it, RWD and nigh on perfect weight distribution instead of a nose heavy FWD car. The BMW is probably better to drive and more refined / luxurious, and a second hand 330 Ci would be about the same price as one of those. It also wont depreciate like concrete in water.

...blah blah second hand blah blah depreciation blah blah Focus ST £17k new blah blah BMW 330Ci £30k new blah blah conveniently forgetting not everyone can buy second hand blah blah...
I think that it is pathetic that the ASA rule against adverts that "encourage anti social or fast driving".
Being that a car is a product which by law can only be sold and used by a qualified adult its not like the product is being aimed at impressionable children. In essence the ASA are saying we know best and we don't want you seeing naughting things in adverts.
